Seyed Hooman Ghasem is an assistant professor at Azad Qazvin University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Auburn University in the USA under Prof. Andrzej S. Nowak founding and supervising. His researches mainly focus on target reliability of structures and mathematics of reliability concepts. In addition, he is working on probabilistic fracture & fatigue failure analysis, development of probabilistic failure criteria, ground motion selection, critical excitation & performance-based design, and code calibration including load and resistance factor design. He had a significant impact on AASHTO LRFD Tunnel design specification. Recently, he is attempting to propose a structural health monitoring system using reliability analysis. Also, he is trying to develop a new generation of reliability limit state functions for the medical science purpose in order to evaluate the human body safety with regard to the reliability analysis.
